One of them came from Tom, a programmer based in San Francisco.

When I asked why, he replied:

We created a tech-style PVC head sculpt and installed our signature electronic screen eyes,
with a preset expression loop: staring → blinking → smiling → back to staring.

A few days after shipping, Tom emailed me:
